The ratchet-style design allows the operator to tighten and release transport chain with controlled, incremental movement. Unlike lever-style binders, the ratcheting mechanism provides a more controlled tightening process without requiring a long lever to generate tension.
Equipped with grab hooks on both ends, the binder is designed to connect directly to compatible transport chain for securing heavy equipment, machinery, steel, construction materials, and other demanding loads during transportation.

- Inspect the binder, hooks, ratchet mechanism, threads, and other components before each use.
- Do not use the binder if it is cracked, bent, deformed, excessively worn, or otherwise damaged.
- Never exceed the 9,200 lb Working Load Limit (WLL).
- Verify that the chain size and grade are compatible with the binder and the cargo-securement application.
- Make sure both grab hooks are properly seated and fully engaged with the chain before applying tension.
- Do not use a cheater bar, pipe, or other leverage-increasing device to operate the binder.
- Keep hands, fingers, and other body parts clear of the ratchet mechanism, chain, and hooks while tensioning or releasing the binder.
- Never stand in line with or directly in front of a loaded chain or binder during tightening or release.
- Do not shock-load the binder or use it for lifting, towing, or applications other than cargo securement.
- After tensioning, verify that the chain and binder remain properly positioned and that the cargo is secure.
- Follow applicable FMCSA cargo-securement requirements and the manufacturer's instructions for the complete securement system.
- Store the binder in a clean, dry location when not in use.
